07 October 2015: Sasha Hinkley - Exoplanet Imaging: Recent results, and Future Prospects

I will give an overview of our efforts devoted to the imaging and spectroscopic characterization of planetary and brown dwarf mass companions on across both hemispheres. I will present our progress on a large Adaptive Optics (AO) survey dedicated to imaging planetary mass companions orbiting stars with newly identified circumstellar debris disks using AO on the 10m Keck telescopes.  In addition,  I will highlight some recent progress with the new VLT instrumenation platform SPHERE. The information gathered from all of these projects will be particularly important for obtaining imaging and spectroscopy of planetary mass companions with upcoming instrumentation at VLT as well as on the upcoming 30m-class E-ELT.
