20 November 2018: Matt Kenworthy - Results from the Beta Pictoris b Hill Sphere transit campaign

The Hill sphere of the young directly imaged exoplanet Beta Pictoris b transited in front of its parent star during the second half of 2017, providing the first-ever opportunity to probe the circumplanetary material of a known exoplanet. I present the latest results from the international campaign where several groups around the world monitored the star with dedicated observatories (bRing, ASTEP and BRITE) and spectroscopy (UVES) to look at the gas dynamics of the system.
